So my first real gig as the IMBA RD was this week. What an amazing event put on by the WI Bike Fed
I found myself chatting with John Burke of Trek, Gary Fisher and my boss Mike Van Abel (see pic) and learning a huge amount about bike advocacy. I also met with DNR officials about the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Fund.
Of course I also drank a few beers with the Human Powered Trails.

Times they are always changing.
Most of you who know me already know about this change but after a week on the job I thought I should put it out there on my own site.
After 10 plus years as a sales rep, the last four with Wenonah Canoe and Current Designs, IR and Astral, I have decided to take a job as the Regional Director of IMBA, or the International Mountain Bike Association. So far the choice has been great. Certainly busy and certainly interesting. I have gone from the routine of clinics and demos to the dynamic arena of advocacy. Already I am off to the WI State capitol to learn about interacting with state politicians and everyday so far I am meeting new and interesting people. I will miss the old crew in paddlesports but I will never be too far from them. Margaret and I managed to save a few boats for ourselves so we wont be without canoes and kayaks to get out there and hang with you!
