Arne Naess dies at 96. The world will miss him.

To a bunch of people this is old news, but here in the United States Arne was not very well known. However I was pretty sad to know that Naess passed away in January and that I did not hear a thing about it until a Norwegian magazine that Margaret and I read showed up yesterday.
Read his obit and learn all that he brought to the table for our world. Arne kept climbing into his 90's, he pushed an outdoor lifestyle as a way to be in better touch with the world. His thoughts and ideas are something Americans should be taking to heart right now.

A BRUTE of a ride

I finished the BRUTE ride this weekend. All said and done the mileage came to 124.5 miles, took 9 hours and 30 minutes. The head winds were ridiculous. I would say how bad they were but it would just sound like urban legend and not really do it justice! Added with the 10,000 feet or so of climbing and you realize why my 12 mph is what it is! Rode solo the full second half.

Hanging at IMBA HQ in CO this week. Rode my first pump track. It is actually in the backyard of one of the IMBA Regional Directors. I want one in my yard..............

Wet trails in D-town..............but not down south!

We are still in the thaw here in North East Minnesota. So please stay off the trails!! However down south in the Metro area the trails are dusty, as is the Lacrosse area. Should not be long now though....
